04 — Project Controls
Professional project controls. Without unnecessary overhead.
Not every contract package requires a full-time Planning Engineer on site. Where the contract permits, RTB Venture provides outsourced planning and project controls support to small and medium-sized contractors and subcontractors — helping meet contractual programme and reporting requirements without maintaining a dedicated full-time planning resource where one is not required.
Our approach
Your site team focuses on delivering the works. RTB Venture provides the planning, programme monitoring, reporting and schedule analysis behind it. Our role goes beyond updating a programme: we help clients understand what is happening to the programme, why it is happening, and what should be recorded while it is happening.
Baseline programme, contractual programme requirements, progress measurement systems, reporting procedures, KPIs, S-curves, manpower and resource information.
Periodic programme updates, planned-versus-actual progress, critical and near-critical activities, emerging trends and developments affecting milestones or completion.
Contemporaneous programme and progress records, event registers, instructions, access constraints, variations, approvals, interfaces and other relevant developments.
Flag potential schedule implications, identify records that should be preserved and highlight matters that may warrant contractual notice or further EOT assessment.
Core support
The scope is tailored to the project's actual contract and reporting requirements. Typical outsourced support can include:
Contemporaneous records
Delay claims can be weakened when programme history, event chronology and supporting records were not maintained while the works were progressing. RTB Venture helps establish a practical system for identifying and maintaining information relating to potentially significant events — including late access, delayed information, approvals, instructions, variations, interface constraints, predecessor delays, changes in sequence and other events potentially affecting progress or completion.
The objective is simple: create the record while the project is happening — not months later when a claim has to be prepared.
Programme specifications, milestones, reporting and progress-measurement obligations.
Baseline, reporting templates and practical progress collection procedures.
Your team provides agreed progress and relevant site information.
RTB updates the programme, assesses progress and prepares required reports.
Potential delay events and critical or near-critical developments are monitored.
Programme history and relevant event records are maintained contemporaneously.
Early delay awareness
When a potentially delaying event is identified, the project team should understand what may be affected, what should be preserved and whether the matter warrants contractual review or further delay analysis.
RTB Venture can help identify potentially significant programme developments, records that should be preserved and matters that may require review against the executed contract and notice provisions.
If an event develops into material delay, RTB Venture can provide programme impact assessment, delay analysis, cause-and-effect analysis, EOT claim preparation or review, forensic schedule analysis and supporting exhibits — with the benefit of an already-maintained project history.
Delay event?
Early action matters. Use the RTB Venture FIDIC EOT Notice Deadline Calculator to calculate an indicative notice deadline and generate a preliminary protective notice for review, or discuss the programme impact directly with RTB Venture.
Contractual entitlement, notice requirements and delay assessment depend on the executed contract, Particular Conditions and project-specific facts. RTB Venture's project-controls monitoring does not replace contractual or legal advice.
